Turkish Wedding

I'm way behind with the telling of the things I've been experiencing, so this is not really up to date, but I still wanted to share: I've been spontaneously invited to come to a turkish wedding - by strangers, who I had met on the bus. They seemed like nice normal Turkish boys, so I said yes and we went there one week later (this was actually December). I've never even been to a German wedding party, and then I got to go to a Turkish one - completely different culture! Sooo many people there!









I was totally doing that traditional dance with them... At least trying.



At some point the couple is standing there, their family and friends gather and then make presents: The bride gets jewelry made of gold clipped to her dress and the groom gets lots and lots of money onto his sash (well, I guess that helps to pay for the huge festivities).

...the highlights of my day:

1. Something in the mail for me: NAPOLEON DYNAMITE DVD, which I just had ordered YESTERDAY! How quick was that!??!

2. "Your mother goes left in a Super Mario game..."

3. My flatmate gives me "a new Björk CD" (Volta). [I thought, I was quite the fan, but since I hadn't realized she HAD a new album, I guess that title is history.]

4. I bid sucessfully on an item I've been wanting to possess for quite some time:

Here Comes Pure Beauty

I don't know if I am ever going to be a real blogger. I don't know what moods drive me to post and why I don't have them more often. But here you go. See and hear what gives me feelings these days. (It's really hard to go through pre-production of even just a short film - you have to concentrate and organize and you do all these things with your brain - there's hardy time to feel anything... at least that's how it works for me.)

...at least in the new film by Fatih Akin, our favorite Turkish / German film director. That was a fricken' cold night!

Yay

Finally I am getting back into life, after a huge catastrophe that happened on the night of Halloween, when my sister's apartment burnt down. It is quite obvious, that she's struck by that way more than I could be, but still, the whole thing paralyzed me for quite some time. You don't know what to feel and what to think. Things you thought were important have to be reflected and new priorities are made.
I changed just a little bit. I decided to live more fully and I hope I can keep it up. Here are some pictures of Scott Matthew, who I went to see last night. My videos turned out very dark, so unfortunately I can't share with you how his beautiful voice filled the night.
